   Traders Leave the Livestock Contracts Mixed Monday Afternoon

   The cattle contracts closed slightly lower Monday afternoon as traders need
to see more fundamental support before they'll likely trade the contracts any
higher.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   The livestock complex closed mixed Monday afternoon as the cattle contracts
dipped lower, but the lean hog contracts rallied through the day's end. New
showlists appear to be mixed, higher in Texas and Nebraska/Colorado, but lower
in Kansas. March corn is down 1 cent per bushel and January soybean meal is
down $1.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 215.67 points and the
NASDAQ is down 32.23 points.
