   Cattle Remain Lerry While Hogs Jump Higher

   Still no cash cattle trade has developed, and there have been no asking
prices to surface yet.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   The livestock complex closed mixed as traders remain leery of overly
supporting the cattle contracts until fundamental support improves, but the
lean hog contracts closed higher. Still no cash cattle trade has developed.
March corn is up 2 1/4 cents per bushel and March soybean meal is up $0.30. The
Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 42.36 points and the NASDAQ is down 238.12
points.
